Hi, I'm Caleb,

Bio

I come from a long line of God-fearing men who built more than just furniture—they built a legacy of integrity, community, and hard work. My grandfather was a master carpenter, and my father a minister, I grew up with a hammer in one hand and a servant’s heart in the other. Carpentry and ministry taught me discipline, patience, and a love for problem-solving—skills that became the foundation of my life’s work.

Beginning with my grandfather

The History

Horton’s Legacy began long before it had a name, with my grandfather, Frank Horton. He grew up with little to no money but an abundance of grit, faith, and determination. Through prayer and perseverance, he taught himself woodworking, pouring countless hours into mastering his craft. His hard work and devotion turned him into a master carpenter, building furniture for people across the state and even across the country.

Whether he was crafting a pulpit for a church, furniture for a courthouse, or a simple chair for a neighbor down the road, my grandfather approached every project with the same pride and care. He treated every person the same, no matter their title or wealth, always focused on their soul rather than their status.

Some of my earliest lessons in life came from him. He often reminded us, “All of us men put our britches on the same way, one leg at a time.” He lived this out daily, showing respect and kindness to everyone he met. He wasn’t just a carpenter; he was a “carpenter of men,” pouring his life into his community.

One story in particular has shaped the heart of how I do business. My father Jerry told me of a time when my grandfather was traveling with him and a group of boys. They saw a homeless man, drunk on the side of the road and lying in a ditch, as a police officer was standing there on the side of the road checking on this man. My grandfather stopped the bus and walked up to the police man and with his permission he gathered the boys around the drunk man, and asked, “How many of you believe this man is a bad man?” Many hands went up. Gently, he corrected them: “No, this man isn’t a bad man. He’s made some bad decisions, but he is still precious and deeply loved by Jesus. Just like you. Just like me.”

That lesson—that every person has immeasurable value—became the foundation of my life and work. My father carried those same values into his 30+ years of ministry, and both men poured that wisdom into me.

Growing up, I learned woodworking and attention to detail from my grandfather, and love and service from my father. Those lessons became the foundation of Horton’s Legacy Custom Design. Over the years, I worked alongside contractors and interior designers, blending craftsmanship with creativity and faith-driven values. Today, that foundation has grown into a business, supported by my loving wife and our two children.

Horton’s Legacy isn’t just about designing beautiful homes it’s about honoring the people who live in them. It’s about carrying forward the morals, ethics, and faith-based principles that were handed down to me, and ensuring every project reflects those values. This business is more than a career; it’s a calling, a ministry, and a continuation of the Horton family legacy.

Why?

Timeline

Over the years, I moved from hands-on construction and home remodeling into the world of design. Working closely with contractors and interior designers for over a decade, I saw a recurring challenge: miscommunication between clients and contractors that often led to costly changes and frustration. I knew there had to be a better way.

That’s why I began creating detailed 3D renderings and comprehensive blueprints for every project before the first nail is driven. This approach bridges the gap between vision and execution, helping homeowners, contractors, and designers align perfectly from the start.

What makes our work unique is the blend of perspectives we bring. We’re not just designing from a contractor’s point of view, or an interior designer’s, or an engineer’s—we’re combining all three. Every plan is thoughtfully designed with both beauty and practicality in mind: from window placement and outlet locations to furniture layout and flow of daily life.

The Family

Husband and proud Dad

Beyond my work, I’m a husband of 10 years and a proud father of two. My greatest goal is to leave a legacy of faith, hard work, and excellence for my children, continuing the foundation my family built generations ago. Everything we do is rooted in glorifying God and serving others through quality design that transforms homes and lives.
